Loving Yourself is the Change Factor for Living Better

Many times people think that being more creative comes down to a stressed process of having to produce out of thin air.  I think if we keep to some basic but extremely important practices in self-care, that we will find that ideas and eventually actions begin to unfold because we are in a primed and well-tuned position to receive them and utilize them.  It comes down to attitude, attitude that establishes good habits that carry you throughout your day and that reinforce your ultimate goals.

Some of the most important of these habits include proper diet, exercise and rest.  Seems simple but, wow, you do have to put some effort into those to actually make them happen.  But that effort becomes gold when applied to your overall quality of life.  Meditation is another one that I like to encourage as I believe it helps us to balance out our approach to the day, how we think of it and how we respond to it.

The truth is we have to grocery, we have to learn about new foods and perhaps new recipes in order to invigorate our diet.  We have to join a gym, drive to it and actually use it which can be a big habit change in itself.  Or we have to put on some workout clothes and shoes and make our way outside for a walk.  In addition to this, we have to make sure that we are not eating too late at night or using too much technology towards bedtime so that we set ourselves up for the best sleep possible.  In essence, we have to actually change our behaviors.  I remember a quote I read a while back which went something like this: you have to do what you really do not want to do in order to get what you really want to get.  I feel the change factor in those words just writing them.  I hope you get that too in reading them.

Ideas come from everywhere.  We each most likely have our own ways that we like to go about getting new ideas.  Taking a walk can help.  Getting a healthy snack or a glass of water can help as well.  These practices that I have spoken of here are just extensions of those tried and true activities that you can incorporate into your daily life.  And God knows even if you already know this or have heard it before or feel like you are practicing it right now it never hurts to just have a little bit of good-natured reinforcement to remind you that these things are important.

What are the best ideas in the world worth if they run you ragged?  Love yourself first.  The ideas will come.  Be well.
